-ASTA-

The Association for the Study of the Tombs of Asasif is an official non-profit institution registered in the National Register of Associations with National Number 620512.

The association was officially recognized nationally on October 14, 2020, with the aim of supporting research in Egyptology.

ASTA's main objective is to disseminate and support research on Ancient Egypt. This includes providing financial support, promoting awareness of Ancient Egyptian monuments, and safeguarding this heritage.

The association has supported several PhD through bibliographic and photographic collaboration, as well as academic guidance.

Financially, the association dedicates all its funds to the Spanish-Egyptian Archaeological Mission, which studies the largest colossus in Egypt, the colossus of Amenhotep III at Karnak.

Our support in Karnak

The project for the Study of the Colossus of Amenhotep III at the Temple of Amun-Ra in Karnak is the first Spanish Mission working in the Karnak Temple Complex.

This is a collaborative project with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Oriens Hum-940 Group of the University of Córdoba, funded mainly by the Fundación Gaselec of Melilla, aimed at studying the Colossus of Amenhotep III, on the south face of the Tenth Pylon of the Temple of Amun-Ra in Karnak.
